Calico Interiors
Calico Interiors started as an idea to give unemployed youngsters painting and decorating skills working on Calico properties.
It now provides apprenticeship opportunities to 16 individuals who require skills development, helping access to training and personal development.
Our “business unit” approach to teamwork means trainees get the right experience, learn business ethos, with the possibility of becoming supervisors in the future.
The programme is flexible and can be adapted as required:
- to provide NVQ opportunities for more mature, unemployed trainees;
- to generate interest from partner organisations who see the benefits of this ground-breaking model and how it can help meet their social responsibilities;
- to work in other areas, with a variety of clients, to generate local jobs there;
- provide a local decorating service with a friendly and reliable local workforce -delivering quality, value for money and a professional service.
